Flexible seating systems for MPVs, irrespective of their size, have become increasingly competitive amongst Europes najveći igrači.

It all started when GM launched the original Zafira in 1999 with its Flex7 seating system that flipped and folded into the floor doing away with the effort of trying to lug heavy seats in and out of the car and then storing them somewhere – like the garage where they inevitably stayed.

With its Zafira Tourer Concept seen at the Geneva Auto Show, which previews the all-new Zafira that will be launched in Frankfurt later this year, GMs European design team headed by Britanac Mark Adams has just upped the ante.

The Lounge concept allows either or both, of the two outer seats in the middle row to slide back an extra five inches – simultaneously the center seat is lowered for its backrest to form a pair of arm rests.

Additionally, the headrests can be turned from vertical to horizontal creating the appearance of a wing backed chair. The under leg supports shown in the concept car have yet to be confirmed for production, although Adams did add that the angle of the seat leđa could be raked back from 23 to se između 33 i 38° for additional comfort.

Furthermore ima also a pair of kiddie izvještaj sized seats in the back for when needed.
