Mae systemau eistedd hyblyg ar gyfer MPVs, waeth beth fo'u maint, wedi dod yn fwyfwy cystadleuol ymhlith chwaraewyr mwyaf Ewrop. Dechreuodd y cyfan pan lansiodd GM y Zafira gwreiddiol yn 1999 gyda'i system eistedd Flex7 a oedd yn troi ac yn plygu i'r llawr gan wneud i ffwrdd â'r ymdrech i geisio bagiau seddi trwm i mewn ac allan o'r car ac yna eu storio yn rhywle – fel y garej lle'r oeddent yn anochel yn aros. Gyda'i Gysyniad Zafira Tourer a welwyd yn Sioe Auto Genefa, sy'n rhagflas o'r Zafira newydd a fydd yn cael ei lansio yn Frankfurt yn ddiweddarach eleni, mae tîm dylunio Ewropeaidd GMs o dan arweiniad Brit, Mark Adams newydd roi'r gorau i'r ante. Mae cysyniad y Lolfa yn caniatáu naill ai, neu'r ddwy, o'r ddwy sedd allanol yn y rhes ganol i lithro'n ôl bum modfedd ychwanegol – ar yr un pryd mae sedd y canolwr yn cael ei gostwng am ei chefn i ffurfio pâr o fraich. Yn ogystal, gellir troi'r penawdau o fertigol i lorweddol gan greu ymddangosiad cadair a gefnogir gan adain. Nid yw'r cymorth o dan y goes a ddangosir yn y car cysyniad wedi'i gadarnhau eto i'w gynhyrchu, er i Adams ychwanegu y gellid torri ongl y sedd yn ôl o 23 i rhwng 33 a 38° am gysur ychwanegol. At hynny, mae yna hefyd bâr o seddi maint kiddie yn y cefn ar gyfer pan fo angen. Flexible seating systems for MPVs, irrespective of their size, have been become increasingly competitive amongst Europes biggest players. It all started when GM launched the original Zafira in 1999 with its Flex7 seating system that flipped and folded into the floor doing away with the effort of trying to lug heavy seats in and out of the car and then storing them somewhere – like the garage where they inevitably stayed. With its Zafira Tourer Concept seen at the Geneva Auto Show, which previews the all-new Zafira that will be launched in Frankfurt later this year, GMs European design team headed by Brit, Mark Adams has just upped the ante. The Lounge concept allows either, or both, of the two outer seats in the middle row to slide back an extra five inches – simultaneously the center seat is lowered for its backrest to form a pair of arm rests. Additionally, the headrests can be turned from vertical to horizontal creating the appearance of a wing backed chair. The under leg supports shown in the concept car have yet to be confirmed for production, although Adams did add that the angle of the seat backs could be raked back from 23 to between 33 and 38° for additional comfort. Furthermore theres also a pair of kiddie sized seats in the back for when needed.
