At the Detroit motor show today is the premiere of the Chevrolet Volt 2016 model year — the first in the modern history of serial plug-in-hybrid, the last serious restyling. The designers and engineers did a good job on one of the most controversial of eco-cars in the US significantly closer appearance to the mainstream and moving away from the extravagance of the first Volt; with regard to technical improvements, there is no revolution, but there are a lot of small evolutions.
The new hatchback began to look more rapidly prizemistoj and more aggressive due to the smooth silhouette, deep relief on the side door and carefully thought-out front with slanted headlights, massive chrome panel, on which is embossed embossed logo brand, and the inclined lines of fog lamps with LED elements. In the cabin was much less conspicuous parts, while GM promises improved significantly ergonomics of the driver and the comfort for a fifth passenger.
Thinner more than 100 kilograms (1607 kg) Volt is driven by a new power plant with a capacity of 149 HP, which develops maximum 399 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h now takes 8.4 seconds (7% less), but the dynamics in the range of 0-50 km/h is improved by as much as 19%. This new battery is not only more powerful (18,4 kWh instead of 17.1), but is lighter, has fewer cells and simpler in architecture. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 2.3 l/100 km and electricity hybrid can travel up to 80 kilometers.
GM promises to release more information about the 2016 Chevrolet Volt very soon, so stay tuned and proceed to the discussion of the first photo. Handsome or failure?
