Marea Britanie este o piaţă vitale la GM, este al patrulea cel mai mare generalii pe piaţă la nivel global si sa cea mai mare piaţă Europene, ceea ce înseamnă că a fost oarecum ironic că, la o înălţime de GMs colaps financiar, au existat grave sugestiile că brandul Vauxhall înlocuiește Opel în Marea Britanie.
