Que tipo de carro, o novo TVR construir?

TVR vai renascer em 2015. Mas como na terra vai competir quando a atual safra de excelentes 100 mil carros esportivos? Aqui está o que devem fazer... Conversando preguiçosamente a McLaren Chris Goodwin na semana passada no evento McLaren P1, temos rodada ao assunto da TVR. McLaren é construir um carro de esportes 100 k no momento, como bem sabe, e Goodwin foi basicamente grelhar-me sobre a qualidade dos rivais do bebê-Mac irá enfrentar no próximo ano, um dos quais será o novo TVR.
Acontece que Goodwin sabe o novo chefe, Les Edgar do caminho de volta quando ele foi correr com o Aston Martin. Eles se envolveram com um projeto de corridas que quase vi Aston ir para Le Mans com um carro de GT1-casa cheia, mas no final ele não se concretizou, desde quando eles não mais nos vimos muito.
Mas era óbvio de Goodwins Tom que ele tem uma grande quantidade de respeito pelo senhor Edgar. Ele o descreveu como sendo um biscoito muito afiado e também alguém que claramente tem a capacidade financeira para elevar o TVR das cinzas.
Mas que tipo de carro, o novo TVR ser realmente? E como é que é vai competir com os gostos do Porsche 911 GT3, o novo McLaren, e, em seguida, um totalmente redesenhado Audi R8 e o já excelente Jaguar F-type, para citar apenas alguns?
Para mim, há várias coisas que deve conter a fim de diferenciá-lo do rebanho.
Uma, absolutamente deve ter uma caixa de velocidades manual. Eu acredito que há ainda um mercado pequeno, mas perfeitamente formado por um carro em que você mudar a engrenagem por si mesmo no nível de 100 k, ainda não um dos rivais acima mencionados está disponível com uma alavanca.
Dois, isso deve evitam a tendência para ser atado com complicados sistemas electrónicos que, alguns dizem, remover a interação entre o carro, o motorista e a estrada abaixo. Isto também ajudará a manter os custos de construir o lado direito do ridículo, e mais uma vez eu estou bastante certo de que há ainda um pequeno, mas cometeu mercado para um carro de esportes 100 k isso não é enfeitado com trapaças eletrônicas, e que, em última análise, cuspirá você para a vegetação se você entendeu errado.
Três, não deve custar mais de 100k. Não deixe o preço do gotejamento acima de 120-130k – caso contrário o GT3 olhará como mesmo valor melhor do que é...
Quatro, se o senhor Edgar e suas equipe varas para a velha escola de Peter Wheeler de carro design e garantir que o novo TVR parece ser bom e vai como um idiota não vai errar muito longe – desde que todos os pontos acima são amplamente respeitados para.
Isso é minha opinião muito simples sobre a situação, mas que tipo de carro que você acha que deve ser o novo TVR? O que você acha que ele deve ser parecido? Quanto você acha que vai custar? Bruto como você acha que deveria ser a unidade? E que tipo de rivais que acha que deveria ser quadratura até? Todas as respostas sensatas (ish) são muito bem-vindos.

Chatting idly to McLarens Chris Goodwin last week at the McLaren P1 event, we got round to the subject of TVR. McLaren is building a 100k sports car at the moment, as you may well know, and Goodwin was basically grilling me about the quality of the rivals the baby-Mac will face next year, one of which will be the new TVR.
Turns out Goodwin knows the new boss, Les Edgar from way back when he was racing with Aston Martin. They got involved with a racing project that very nearly saw Aston go to Le Mans with a full-house GT1 car, but in the end it didnt quite happen, since when theyve not seen each other much.
But it was obvious from Goodwins tone that he has a great deal of respect for Mr Edgar. He described him as being a very sharp cookie and also someone who clearly has the financial clout to raise TVR from the ashes.
But what sort of car should the new TVR actually be? And how on earth is it going to compete with the likes of the Porsche 911 GT3, the new small McLaren, and by then a completely redesigned Audi R8 and the already excellent Jaguar F-type, to name but a few?
For me there are several key things it must contain in order to differentiate it from the herd.
One, it absolutely must have a manual gearbox. I believe there is still a small but perfectly formed market for a car in which you change gear by yourself at the 100k level, yet not one of the aforementioned rivals is even available with a stick shift.
Two, it must eschew the trend for being laced with complicated electronic systems that, some say, remove the interaction between car, driver and the road beneath. This will also help keep the build costs the right side of ridiculous, and once again Im fairly certain theres still a small but committed market for a 100k sports car that isnt festooned with electronic trickery, and which will, ultimately, spit you into the undergrowth if you get it wrong.
Three, it must not cost more than 100k. Dont let the price trickle up to 120-130k – otherwise the GT3 will look like even better value than it is. . .
Four, if Mr Edgar and his team sticks to the old Peter Wheeler school of car design and ensure that the new TVR looks good and goes like stink they wont go too far wrong – so long as all of the above points are broadly adhered to.
Thats my pretty simple take on the situation, but what sort of car do you think the new TVR should be? What do you think it should look like? How much do you think it should cost? How raw do you think it should be to drive? And what sort of rivals do you think it should be squaring up to? All sensible (ish) answers are most welcome.
