Adrian Newey: RB9 is a development of last year's machine

The presentation of the new RB9 in Milton Keynes head of the technical Department of the Red Bull Racing announced that the team used the former approach has been proven to work - RB9 was an evolution of last year's machine.
Adrian Newey: "It is an evolutionary machine. This time there was no substantial change in the regulations, the most significant change relates to the new Pirelli tyres. Last year we tested them during the first session of free races in Brazil, but if the weather is hot and not in the best condition of the track, I honestly have not been able to learn a lot.
We tried to get more from last year's RB8, but serious changes have occurred. RB9 became its evolutionary development, the principles and approaches are the same as in 2012, but the essence is in the details. We removed some items, realizing that this will help to achieve more.
A key factor in the upcoming season - the development of the machine during the championship. In addition, we will continue to deal with the rubber. Every time last year we thought that we understood her work, there were some surprises, so full of understanding in 2012 was not achieved, moreover, in Pirelli changed the tyres. Only on the tests it will be possible to draw some initial conclusions.
Last year we up to the last race of the season, fought for the title, we have not had the opportunity early on to switch on the RB9, so winter has been very difficult, and the fact that we managed to prepare a new two days before the tests - the result of hard work.
