Giedo van der garde: the main task is to deal with rubber

Guido van der garde first got behind the wheel of a new car Caterham and was satisfied with the start of the test. The Dutchman without problems drove 64 circle, finishing in tenth place at the end of the day. Tomorrow championship debutant will continue to work on the track. . .
Guido van der garde (10th): "First of all, I am glad to get back to work and am pleased with how the day went. I have no serious problems drove an impressive number of laps and immediately felt comfortable in the car.
On the first day of tests necessary to ensure that the car everything works as expected, and, except a small problem with the bottom, we did not have to make major changes. We worked out a few new to me, procedures, particularly start, because last year I rarely participated in the race, but my main task was to work with rubber. Of course, it differs from the one with which I worked last year on Fridays, so I will try to deal with it on the tests.
It is too early to judge the speed, but compared to last year's machine, which I piloted in Brazil, it seems that during the off-season we have made good progress. Tomorrow we will continue working in the same direction: the need to develop different procedures to test a few options with our rubber compositions. I hope to reach as many circles as possible".
Cyril Abiteboulthe head of the team: "I am satisfied with the work. The first day of the tests began for us with the presentation of the new machine that changed the coloring. I liked the response to ST that we received from all over the world. Any change is always a risk, because people are sensitive to the colors of cars of Formula 1. However, we have received several positive reviews and seeing the car on the track, realized that I had made the right decision.
Still too early to say what place on speed we will take this year. We actually look at things and understand that it will take a gigantic effort to impose the fight more strong teams, but we are patient and set realistic goals.

One of the key points is to use the time on the tests, so we will try to avoid problems in the three remaining test days, and returned to the base, to analyze the obtained data.
In General, today is a good day. Another bonus is to see how quickly the Charles and Guido were adjusted to the team. This bodes well for a successful season. Finally nice to see that our racers we all got along great".
