Audi is ready to put himself at the service of virtual reality, not only in the design or the design of new models, but in such a conservative region, as sales of automobiles. The device, dubbed the VR Experience, will allow the client to see, hear and feel the entire range of the brand, to try yourself behind the wheel of any machine and select the desired list of options. This 3D showroom fits in a regular diplomat and, of course, is much less than the real site with machines.
Audi explained that for 3D projector, provided with headphones from Bang & Olufsen, had to write special software to load in memory a high-quality three-dimensional panoramas of all the models of the four rings in all possible colors and trim levels. Obeying the movements of the head of the client, the VR Experience will show all angles of the machine: not only can you get behind the wheel or in the passenger seat, but, for example, to look in the trunk. Audio recordings will accompany the show absolutely natural sound of the slamming door actuated switches and so on.
Vice-President of the Audi sales Luca de MEO believes that the showroom in a suitcase can turn an idea about the sales of cars — for example, managers will now be able, like the road warriors, coming home to potential buyers. The first 3D glasses will appear at selected dealers at the end of 2015; perhaps, we are ready to sign up for their test drive.
