Även om blev tillsagda av sin far att han skulle racing i GP2-serien i år (se vår mars 2011 frågan), amerikanska F1 hoppfull Alexander Rossi har meddelat att han kommer att tävla i Formel Renault 3. 5-serien 2011 med Fortec Motorsports laget. Rossi, en kalifornisk som är bosatt i Marina de Pietrasanta, Italien, är för närvarande i Österrike som en finalist för FIA Young Driver Excellence Academy Shootout. Efter som fan tillbringa de kommande fyra veckorna utbildning, arbetar med sponsorer och förbereda med sitt team för först World Series test på Motorland Aragon, Spanien 8 och 9 mars.
