Detroit motor show: Jeep Grand Cherokee

Facelift for the big Jeep Grand Cherokee includes an eight-speed gearbox and a diesel for the US market. Jeep will unveil a facelifted Grand Cherokee at the Detroit motor show later this month with a new, higher quality interior, a new transmission and the option of a diesel for the US market.
Exterior changes include a slimmer, more subtle grille, new front and rear bumper designs, while inside the cabin the centre console has been redesigned with new switchgear and, hopefully, better quality materials.
The old five and six-speed autos will be replaced by the eight-transmission speed, as used in the US market petrol-powered Chrysler 300.
