Every fourth inhabitant of our country to the end of the year is the car. Such forecast is based on market assessments given in the Agency "AUTOSTAT". If we look at the number of cars per capita per family, own car is every second cell of society. And in 10-15% of the households with 2 cars and more. Despite the high rate of car ownership in Russia, our country still lags behind Europe. According to the Director of the Agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergei tselikova, if we will just 250 cars per 1000 inhabitants, in Europe they already 480, and in many developed countries this figure exceeds 600 cars per 1000 people. In Germany, France, Italy, the level of motorization, which has now reached Russia, was still in the mid 70-ies. Even in such cities as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, where the daily traffic jams almost paralyze traffic, the level of car ownership was still below the European - 330-350 cars per 1000 inhabitants. While fleets actively continue to increase, and if the situation does not change, by 2020 the average for Russia will be 350-360 cars per 1000 inhabitants, and in Metropolitan areas this indicator will begin to approach the level of 500 cars. However, there is a risk that movement in these cities will rise permanently, noted Sergey Tselikov. After the crisis lull this year the Russian market began to overtake one country after another.
