The Chinese company and the American automaker signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of production of electric vehicles. We already know about the plans of GM and LG together to produce electric vehicles. However, in the near future there will be another similar Union between GM and China's SAIC. The parties have already concluded an agreement to establish a joint venture in the proportions 50:50, which will develop an electric vehicle for the Chinese market. It is known that the new car is not an adaptation of a model from an existing line of GM, but quite separate development, although the timing of the presentation and the price of the novelty is still unknown. In addition, GM expressed hope that the Chinese government will expand the list of government subsidies on imported models, referring to the first Chevrolet Volt. However, the Vice-President of the American company Steve Girsky especially stressed that no pressure from the Chinese side GM had no no one is forcing the company to share the technology of the production Volt. Cooperation between GM and SAIC began in 1997. Currently, SAIC is the largest automaker in China, and GM is the first line for production in China as a foreign company.
