Ellison: it seems we have managed to make the car faster

After the end of the first day of the winter tests, 2013 Lotus F1 Team technical director James Allison told reporters about his impressions of the press-service of the team ...
Q: James, how do you assess the results of the day?
James Ellison: Very positive — not a bad day. The machine does not break, it seems we really managed to do it faster.
Question: how is it different from E21?
James EllisonAerodynamics: the concept has remained the same, but designing a new car, you are trying to push the limits of each time, ensure that that the old machine was impossible. The design has changed quite seriously, which should enable progress to be made during the season.
Question: many sites E21 inherited from last year's machine?
James Ellison: Actually it is evolution, but almost every site was revised again, there are many new, so the debut of the E21 line was very tense.
Question: How do you measure lap time?
James EllisonWe went with a large amount of fuel, however, E21 was quick. It's only early days, and we will not be able to assess its real speed, not yet decide everything in one place and in equal conditions.
