Guido van der garde: We pretty much lose to the leaders

The first day of the winter test in Jerez passed without serious problems for Guido van der garde. Pilot Caterham stated that he had positive impressions about the new car, however, it is difficult to judge the level of progress made by the team compared to last year.

Guido van der garde: "the Machine made a positive impression, it is faster than last year and more than me, but we are still quite a lot of lag behind the leaders. On the first day back of the machine was not stable, but overall I'm pleased. We'll see how things develop in the environment.

Most problems we have had with tires. Yet to understand how much they differ from the previous year. In addition, the compositions of the Medium and Soft track was too cold. However, all teams are equal, and I hope that soon I will be able to deal with the peculiarities of the rubber.

It is too early to judge that, if we impose the combat teams of the middle group. Was just the first day of tests, we have a young team, but Cyril Abiteboul does everything to put in key positions for the right people. I'm sure it will allow the team to progress, but it is too early to say".

Caterham has announced the signing of a contract with Guido van der garde for a few days before the tests. Dutch pilot assures that it had no impact on the test program: "If we could sign a contract before, then I'd have more time to prepare for tests. However, I know the team, they know me, so no special problems have arisen. Now I'm preparing for the season, let's see what results we can achieve".
