General Motors predicts an increase automation through new means of active safety. Already by 2020, cars will be able to move without direct participation of the driver, due to the special Autonomous systems. It is with this statement was made by Vice President, GM global research and development élan Taub. According to him, the transition to independent movement of vehicles will be accomplished through the development of active safety systems. Sensors, radar, telephones and tablet computers, GPS and video camera - all of these tools are already now tell you all the most important information to the driver and the onboard computer of the vehicle. In combination with electronic cards these same devices in the future could save the driver from having to directly operate the machine, providing the traffic situation is completely at the disposal of the computer. Some systems, like control of blind zones that are already available on such models as the Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. In the future, GM's plan to equip their cars with sensors active avoidance, communication systems linking machine in the flow with traffic lights and electronic sensors on the road, and other high-tech devices. "We are confident that in the coming years will see a real leap in the development of active safety, which, hopefully, will help to reduce injuries and fatalities on the roads. Nice to know that in the forefront of the development of such systems has been and remains the GM," he added Taub.
