Teaser images of the all-new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have been posted all over the Internet. Today Chevrolet finally released a picture of the complete car as well as a photo of the unusual radio interface.

Next Monday evening (April 18) at 8. 30pm EDT Chevrolet is making good use of new technology when it unveils the all-new Malibu at Tuesdays media day at the Shanghai auto show.

Chevrolet has created a website just for this unveiling watchthenewchevymalibuinhd.com so that anyone with broadband Internet access can watch the new Chevy Malibu in HD. Anyone interested in viewing the launch next Monday/Tuesday can check the site now to make sure they have a fast enough connection. For viewers who do not have the capability the unveiling will be shown worldwide on Facebook as well as on the iPhone.



According to Chevrolet it is the first time the auto industry has used full-screen High-Definition video streaming to unveil a new product. It is an extremely important new car for General Motors as the all-new Malibu will be sold in 100 countries. Until now the Malibu has only been sold in North America so it is an important part of GMs intent to make Chevrolet a truly global brand.

Chevrolet says the Malibu will feature a global family of fuel-efficient and powerful four-cylinder engines, along with six-speed transmissions. It goes on to say the Malibu was designed to stand out in all markets around the globe, while its European-inspired driving characteristics were engineered to challenge the best in its class.

Last year the Malibu was GMs best selling car in the U. S. and the seventh best selling car overall. It will be interesting to see if a more European-like car still appeals to American buyers and a traditional American car appeals to drivers in Europe, China and elsewhere.
