Chery, the Chinese company, signed a contract with Quantum LLC to invest $225 million in a new car lineup under the new Quoros subbrand (for the foreign market, Chinese names will be Guan Zhi and Ka Rui Si). Chery Quorosas the Qoros brand will be used in stylized Q. The information is dated ... 2008, but most recently, new information has appeared about this project. The joint venture (SQAC abbreviation) is already working for a full coil. Chery is ready to start operating a new plant in Changsha, a city west of Shanghai and just a few hours away from Chery-Woo's "native" town. The location of the new enterprise makes it an ideal base for export. The new plant will initially be designed for the annual production of 150,000 cars, however capable of more. 40 per cent of the produced vehicles will have to be exported. If initially the issue of the sports sedans was concerned, it became known of late that models code-named CF11 and CF14 would be sedans and hatchback of the Dimensional class C (in this class Chery had just presented at the Shanghai model E5-a new version of Chery Fora), and S16 SUV-crossover with sports gradient. The novelties will be positioned on the bar above Chery's premium brand. It is not clear how Chery plans to conquer the Chinese market with a new series of automobiles with rather trivial characteristics, a great many in China. The market needs something to be struck by offering it, for example, an original hybrid or a pure electric car. At the same time, it is interesting that Quantum LLC was "seen" in partnership with Renault on the power mobile project Better Place. On the other hand, Chery's non-standard development has not yet made it available in the Chinese market-the lion's share of profit comes from the standard budget models, in particular QQ, which has been included in the top 20 most popular cars in China.
