Motorists rights advocates defended the right wheel
The updated version of the Technical Regulations of the Common Economic Space (EEP), which is being considered by the Governments of the Customs Union, does not contain instructions to ban the use of right-hand vehicles. The new wording of the technical regulations (to be published on the website of the Customs Union), comments for readers of the portal zr. ru expert of the Inter-regional Public Organization of the "Freedom of Choice" of Bogdan Osokin. The developers of the technical regulations took into account the amendments made by the lawyers of motorists during numerous working meetings with NAMY and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Thus, the ban on the use of right-hand drive vehicles in the new version of the EEP has nothing to say. Paragraph 19 of the PV states: " The issuance of vehicles with right-hand drive helmsman M2 and M3 is prohibited. In the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the issuance of motor vehicles with other categories of steering control is prohibited. " Categories M2 and M3 are more than 9-tonne cars (buses). Thus, only the right-hand buses will not be imported. The developers of the technical regulations took into account other proposals of the organization "Freedom of Choice" and, in particular, introduced such a very important point: 74. Vehicles in service shall not apply the requirements of this technical regulation to the availability of verifiable components which have not been provided for in the vehicle at the time of issuance. This means that it is necessary to require the presence of a front fog lamp, a central stop signal, an orange signal, and so on. should not. The remaining points of the EEP also suggest that there are no problems with the operation of the right-hand drive vehicles provided that the headlights (i.e. ) will not be present. As for the importation of American motor vehicles, the back blinkers will have to replace or possibly bypass the installation of the so-called optional direction-indicator lamps. We hope this news will calm the millions of Russian owners of cars with starboard.
