The total length of the chord - 29 km, but only seven of them need to build anew, the remaining 22 km will be along existing streets, which will only widen. Moreover, it is planned to reconstruct the three existing hub and to build 12 new interchanges. Deputy mayor Marat Khusnullin believes that the construction of a new chord, in fact, has already begun, as the starting point of the transverse line decided to consider Albano-Baltic tunnel, the construction of which is scheduled to be completed in 2012. This chord will go in two side - by 12 km from the Leningrad highway to the North and 17 km to the South. To reduce the load on the capital's roads, to build the North-West chord solved in stages.
