In 2014 Sochi will host the winter Olympics. The city will come sportsmen, as well as numerous fans from different countries. Will the transport infrastructure of the black sea capital of Russia to cope with the influx of cars and buses? This issue was dealt with Igor Margaretta.
I can confirm that a few years ago, the transport infrastructure was rated as "catastrophic." And the entrance to the city and the center were always stuck in traffic jams. It was almost impossible to imagine how the Olympic Games would be held in such circumstances. Now the city is still standing-it is said that at different ends it was a giant construction site-but suddenly there was a prospect, it became clear that in a year or two it would all change. And from the end, at the end of the long Black Sea, stretched out between the mountains and the sea, it will be possible to pass through! I saw that in person when I was on the Olympic road trip. Sochi, not the largest Russian city, for normal development is just a lack of roads, 16,000 people. cars per day is too much for most local roads. Multi-hour traffic congestion for the city is not rare, 70 percent of them work in overloads, and some of the city's highways are just stopped at peak times. But by the end of 2013, there should be 40 km of new tracks. Construction of transport infrastructure is on schedule, Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin said at a meeting of the public council for the preparation of the Olympic Games in 2014. According to Levitin, 46 transport infrastructure facilities are being built in Sochi. In addition, Sochi has its own peculiarities-numerous bottlenecks at the intersection of federal and local roads. The problem is solved by construction of 5 transport junctions ("Adler Ring"). "Blue Daly", "Stadion", "Vinograda-Donskaia", "Airport"). The scale of these structures can be judged by this example: the Stadion four-lane interchange consists of 5 Estados, 2 bridges, 21 pillars. At the same time, it is necessary to understand that the city is on rather weak soils, and for such constructions, the piles have to be taken to a depth of up to 20 meters! To solve the main transport problem of the city is built in 2009 the road-bypass and the new understudy of resort avenue. "We have completed the first stage of the understudy by about 80 percent and are planning to launch it by early next year in order to unload the city center," Minister Levitin Levitin said. The Sočiis information center does not turn to the name of the understudy. Of the 17 km of highway, the classic road is only 2 km away. The rest is 9 tunnels, 11 overpasses, 8 transport junctions ... New roads and transport links will allow the traffic flows, will connect the federal highway and the city streets, will ensure the entrance to sports facilities, the airport. Most of the new expressways in Sochi are on the top tier. Thus, the builders have passed the problem with the historical building, but not all the old-timers are satisfied with this solution. The first Olympic road facilities in Sochi, according to the head of the Federal Road Agency Anatoly Chabunin, will be put into operation in 2012 in December of this year, a partial movement on the Adler ring and some other transport links will be opened. The construction of the first stage of the Kurortny avenue will be completed early in 2012. And then the city will breathe a little bit more calm ...Even though the final delivery of the facilities remains for another two years, which is unusual for our country, the industry leaders are already thinking about how to further use the experience gained in Sochi, equipment and teams of road vehicles. "After the construction is completed, unique technologies will be applied in other projects," Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin said at a meeting of the Public Council for the Olympic Games in 2014. For example, in his opinion, technicians and teams could take part in the possible construction of a new road from Tuapse to Sochi. Most of the new high-velocity roads in Schoa are on the second level. Thus, the construction of the tunnels has been struck by the problem of the city's historical developers.
