Subaru Forester: in the thick of things
Six months ago we talked about "the Forester" with a new base engine. Now updated and other motors. What acquired them to the crossover?
I was skeptical of Subaru Forester at first. " Subaru states that the 2.5-liter oppositing engine is now completely new, but it was hard to believe: power and torque remained the same. But it was worth to read the documentation, as doubts disappeared. There's a whole lot of things under the hood. The motor has become long-walking (the piston has increased and the diameter of the cylinder has been reduced), the combustion chamber has decreased, which, according to the firm's representatives, has improved the mixture. It has also managed to reduce the costs of maintenance and operation of the oppositing engine. For example, the oil filter is now located next to the filler neck. It's a good time to change it. A long lasting chain drive has been introduced in the valve in the gas distribution system. Finally, according to the developers, the new engine is more economical. However, on the route Minsk-Belovezhskaya Pushcha (the lion's part of the way-flat line), the car ate 9.8 l/100 km. That's not so bad, is it? Spoiler on the back of the trunk is the brightest sign of S-Edition. On the other hand, the engine has become more elastic, with it a more tiny car, with no overdrive on the overdrive. The light reaction of the accelerator-the machine has been cooled fast. But I will not name a standard "Forester". You want a real drive? Then you better look at the new version of S-Edition. Its inflatable 2.5-liter engine develops an impressive 263 l. s. The beast! That doesn't show much. The Photographer asked me to support 50 kph, it was a flour! I wanted to drive, drive, drive! Only a reminder of the robustness of the Belarusian gaists made me moderate the dust. Under the buoy temperature of the supercharged engine slightly adapted the already good chassis, only to avoid the installation of more rigid shock absorbers. And instead of a 4-speed vending machine on a recharged version 5 is applied to a WRX STI, designed for a high torque. There is also manual switching. The sub-petals are not the only ones distinguishing between the interior of S-Edition and the base version. There's a gorgeous blue, alcan-like chair, and metal pedals and aluminum molding. Metallic pedals, engine-start button, submachine petals are the main differences in the interiors of sports. But, in general, "Forester" is no longer a super-modern one. I, for instance, lacked the regime of three times the blinker's answer to the touch of a redhead. Savor and a backlight in the mirrors on the visors. And the sports version also strained noise: a hum from the wheel arches was going so much that I wanted to wear headphones. But, according to the representatives of the firm, the customers of S-Edition, this problem should not be stressed-they are ready to forgive Forester all for the luxurious dynamics and manageability. But I did not want to sacrifice anything for this car, $1,676,500, " he said.
