Nissan roadside assistance service creates to owners of electric vehicles
Nissan Motor Co (Nissan) is creating a mobile help desk for those who have not been charged with their own CU at home or in transit. The fuel cells will be powered by a 29-kilowatt diesel engine, installed in the body of a 5-ton truck, the testing of which starts with the representatives of the Automobile Federation of Japan and the Ministry of the Environment. Nissan, which seeks to master the palm of the championship in the production of electric cars with its own Leaf on Lithium Ion batteries, insists that the "green" truck is just an extra protection, a safety net for electric vehicles that can be worried about the condition of the batteries. However, the news of the creation of such a service in Japan has given rise to a mass of unrest among the owners of electric vehicles: once a service is created, the reliability of the electric vehicles is not too high ... Representatives of the Japanese automobile federation are calming: from the summer of 2010 to April 2011, the owners of electric vehicles sought technical assistance only 86 times. In 73 cases, the reason for the "rescue service" was the fully discharged batteries. Rescuers, dressed as a fire brigade, wearing a pair of protective goggles, hellasses, and rubber gloves to protect against electrical shock, will be able to connect Leaf to the diesel engine for 20 minutes by charging the battery for about 25 miles to the point of charging. Moreover, they will be able to save not only the Leaf and Nissan: the equipment is working on a protocol supported by other Japanese electric car manufacturers, including Mitsubishi and Subaru. But the service will be free for the owners of Nissan, but only in "native" for Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo, and only until December 2011. Not yet reported on the possibility of extending its activities to other countries
