Audi learned to make gasoline without oil

Fuel experiments Audi continues — having worked a couple years on environmentally friendly diesel fuel in Ingolstadt switched to gasoline. The result was the e-benzin created by Audi in cooperation with Global Bioenergies and Fraunhofer Center for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes without the use of oil.
In fact, just recently the company released the first batch of unusual gasoline with an octane rating equal to one hundred units. Working on it in France, using isobutylene obtained from renewable resources (not petroleum). Subsequently, the gaseous substance is reacted with hydrogen, becoming liquid isooctane.
The advantages of such fuel, as they say in the Audi, more than enough. In addition to the nature of mining, e-benzin also notable absence of sulfur and benzene, which, in turn, provides a very clean burning. And it is suitable for engines with high compression.

Well, let's see what opportunities are waiting for an advanced gasoline. Be Of Good Cheer, Audi!
