Opel has officially announced the development of a new generation of adaptive headlights with, perhaps, a revolutionary system for tracking the line of sight of the driver and a corresponding adjustment of the light beam.
The company said that it will work with photodiodes and peripheral infrared sensors. These will allow you to scan a driver's eyes more than 50 times per second, then special actuators in the headlights will start to redirect the light vertically and horizontally.
That is intriguing, even more so is the ability to recognize system informed opinion of the driver, that is, ignore the inherent people sharp changing view direction from one point to another. Thus, the headlights will not move in leaps and bounds.
Opel engineers implement the technology in led matrix optics, which would also not blind oncoming drivers and avoid light in front. The company promises to provide a ready option after about a year and a half. Best of luck and really looking forward to!
