Yesterday's news about the upcoming Audi Q8 are accompanied by fresh details today about another crossover from Ingolstadt. It comes compact Q1, which will be released next year and will become the smallest cross brand. These and other parts shared with the journalists personally, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler.
They talked during the regular press conference of the company on plans for the coming years. Stadler confirmed that the launch of Q1 will be held in 2016, and the basis for it will serve as a smaller version of a modular platform MQB. Exact figures on the size of the new items yet, but most likely the focus is on A3.
By the way, that three-pointers from it will get the engine range — this means a set of petrol and diesel 4-cylinder units. By default, mini cross, as we wrote earlier, will be front-wheel drive. But without an original quattro no cost system will be offered as an option.
There are some details and design (in addition to previously shown in the sketch you see above). It is known that work on the appearance Q1 was conducted before joining the company's new chief designer Mark Licht, however, the Licht that have demonstrated their vision of style Audi concept Prologue, still made some edits.
Well, a brand new compact crossover has become even closer. I hope to meet you this year!
