American manufacturer of automotive paints PPG Industries conducted a study that revealed the color preferences of car buyers around the world. In accordance with the global data collected by the company, more than a quarter of all sold in 2014 cars were white. Thus, this year the popularity of the white rose to 28%. In second place was black with 18%, while silver and gray shared the third and fourth places with indicator 13% each. PPG mentions that the popularity of silver has declined worldwide over the last two years at 7%.
In North America and in Europe, the top three colors match. In the United States and Canada, the most popular white - 23%, followed by black - 18% grey - 16%. In Europe white cars took a quarter of the market - 25%, 15% auto black and 14% gray. In South America silver and white tied for first/second place with 32% each, followed by black with 13% and grey with 11% of clients. In the Asia-Pacific region, 31% of new car buyers also chose white color, 20% chose black and 12% silver.
Thus, three-quarters of the cars in the world monochrome, as shown by the traffic flow of any city. But experts PPG predict that in the next year, a little more clients will opt for their cars in natural colors: orange, copper, brown, and metallic colors bronze, pink gold and tin.
