Fernandez: I'm glad that we confidently begin new season
The Caterham Group chief Tony Fernandes impressed with the progress of the team and I am confident that this year she will be able not only to reduce the backlog from stronger opponents, but also successfully prepare for the next season.
Tony Fernandes, Caterham Group chief: "CT03 is the first machine created on the basis of Lipide, and last, constructed as above. She became an evolution of last year's machine, so we will be able to further reduce the gap with the more powerful teams, but at the same time as soon as possible to start work on the machine for the 2014 year.
This year all teams want to achieve maximum efficiency, but because of massive changes in the new regulations, resources, and budget, we are forced at some point to stop the revision CT03 and to focus on preparing for next season. After a few races we will bring several new products, and I am glad that our plan for the 2013 year will allow us to participate in the struggle this season and, more importantly, to maximize the use regulations for the 2014 year.
Becoming the head of the Caterham Group, I will be less involved in the daily work of the team, but I'm glad that we can safely start the new season. Caterham Group continues to grow: announcing in November about the partnership with Renaultwe started to work on the new products of Alpine and Caterham Cars. Caterham Composites and Caterham Technology & Innovation also engage in interesting projects, some of which will be presented this year.
The dream is slowly becoming a reality, but I keep a realistic view of things and know that the road ahead is long. We have invested in the long term and did not abbreviations, we have everything you need to keep moving forward."
