Christian Horner: it's All in the details

In an interview with the official website of the world championship Christian Horner told why extended his contract with Red Bull, why went to Maranello, did the team a new machine, and what kind of relationship the mark Webber with Helmut Marko. . .
Question: Christian, apparently, you like blue clothes, or were there any other reasons to extend the contract with Red Bull?
Christian Horner: Extend the contract was natural and logical. I came into Formula 1 with Red Bull - Dietrich Mateschitz has given me this chance, even though I was quite young. So the contract extension was a pure formality.
Question: what about your recent visit to Ferrari? In the press there were rumors that you went there not only to talk about Formula 1 racing...
Christian Horner: This is typical media Formula 1, but trust me - this meeting was devoted to the future of Formula 1. And was very positively and productively.
Question: And you never thought of the idea that on the other side of the fence the grass is greener?
Christian Horner: Never. Never. What we have achieved in the Red Bull Racing, quite unique, and I was always 100% committed to the team. The meeting on the basis Ferrari had me personally nothing - we have only discussed the future of Formula 1.
Question: How do you see the future of Formula 1?
Christian Horner: Now the interest in Formula 1 great as ever. In 2012 we saw a fantastic season, but teams it is important to sign long-term agreement with the owner of the commercial rights to plan for the future. We see what interesting things happen in Formula 1, soon we are waiting for the emergence of race tracks in new regions, so sometimes it's worth sit down and in a small circle to discuss some important issues.
Question: in the Winter you had time to rest on our laurels, but now are you ready to fight?
Christian Horner: Absolutely. However, this "winter" was pretty short - season ended in late November, and December and January we spent on the production of new machines. Plus in the middle of this period had to somehow find time for Christmas, so our off-season was very short. But this has not diminished our desire to create a machine in the shortest possible time and to arrive in Jerez with ready RB9.
Question: the New machine is ready, despite the fact that you fought for the title until the last race. RB9 again will be the machine that is able to win?
Christian Horner: What we have managed so long to transfer the emphasis on cars of 2013 - a direct consequence of the stability of the regulations. Therefore, all that we used on the machine of 2012, it is appropriate now. RB9 - to a large extent the evolution of the RB8, and she was successful.
Question: how does it differ from RB8? This is another brilliant machine Adrian Newey? How about her speak of mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel after three days of tests?
Christian Horner: It's all in the details. Feel the machine is largely similar to last year, only better. In General, the beginning reassuring. We have a very good base. The family of vehicles, which has grown from a RB5 - RB6, RB7, RB8 and RB9 is a natural evolution. You can even see the family resemblance (laughs).
Question: what about machine 2014? You are doing two projects?
Christian Horner: No, we don't have so many resources, so you have to seek a balance between projects this year and next, which is very different due to changes in regulations. This is one of the major challenges of 2013 - the combination of the two projects.
Question: let's Talk about the people on your team. The relationship between mark Webber and Helmut Marko, apparently, not very simple...
Christian Horner: I doubt they will be together to spend Christmas, but there is one thing that unites them - they both riders. And, probably, sometimes they act accordingly. Mark is in our team, because we believe in him, and if he didn't believe in the team, he would not extend the contract for this season. Helmut - racer, as you know, and sometimes speaks about how he looks at the situation, but it is only his opinion.
Question: Sometimes there is a feeling that you with Helmut purposely play the role of "good and bad police". You agree in advance?
Christian Horner: No. Helmut is very straightforward person, and never hesitated to Express his opinion. You should not see here good and bad, we are equally supported by both pilots, and this happens for several years...
Question: a Big success this burden? Perhaps it is the success, not money changes everything?
Christian Horner: Yes, with success come and inflated expectations. Our team has won six of cups in three years - very few ever is. But when you're on top, everyone is trying you out to reset. And year after year the pressure is rising. 2012 was tough, but we were again stronger and determined not to lose the fuse.
Question: does this Mean that now you do not sleep at night?
Christian Horner: Of course, some concerns there, but, on the other hand, we have earned these six League cups in the fight against rivals. We won 34 races, three titles in the individual competition and three of the Cup of designers, and we already no one will take away. All this is already in the record books.
Question: Sebastian grew up in the public eye, putting along the way in the Treasury three titles. Now he's a man, and are probably beginning to understand that there is life outside of racing. Will he continue to act as before?
Christian Horner: Of course. He is young, he is only 25, but he was always wise enough man. He loves sports and is passionate about them, and it's great that he continues to develop. Despite his youth, he is the most successful current Formula 1 driver. He is the model. And the best part is that Sebastian is still to come!
Question: can You tell us about the differences between your two pilots? They are considered equal, but one of them has won three titles, and the best result of another third place in the championship...
Christian Horner: They're both phenomenal racers, and do not underestimate the success of the Brand. But Sebastian is one of the best racers of Formula 1, which I have ever seen, and to match his level is very difficult. Look at the situation differently: together they have achieved a lot. They won 34 races - 25 Sebastian, and mark 9. Statistics speaks for itself.
Question: Can you give three reasons why 2013 will again be a year of Red Bull - and three reasons why not become?
Christian Horner: How can one respond to this? All I can say is team have a huge desire to succeed. Will this be enough - ask me at the end of the year (laughs). Three reasons why not become? More than three... Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Lotus will be very hard for us to beat.
