Seat presented official pictures of the fourth generation model Toledo. The appearance of novelty, however, was not a surprise: the new Toledo is largely based on the prototype Ginebra’ 12, presented at the Geneva motor show in March.
After a failed experiment with the third generation Toledo, the body of which was somewhere between a minivan and a sedan, Spanish group returned to proven solutions. This model again has a classic three-volume body. But it's not a sedan. New Toledo, like his ancestor the first generation, is a lift back. This means that the boot lid is opened together with glass rear window, greatly facilitating the loading of large items. The new Toledo is 4,48 m length, and the wheelbase is 2602 mm to 80 mm longer than its predecessor.
As for style, the vehicle can be called conservative. The overall silhouette is not much different from other models of the range Seat. To be exact, the new Toledo is a twin Skodа Rapid, as it uses technological solutions for the generation of Volkswagen Polo.
Initially, the engine of the Spanish lift back will be installed three engines: two petrol TSI, with a capacity of 1.2 and 1.4 liter capacity of 105 and 122 HP, respectively. For supporters of diesels Seat has prepared a 105-horsepower TDI engine, with a capacity of 1.6 liters. In 2013, this offer will be extended to the weaker, 90-horsepower variant of the TDI engine.
The first market where you will see the new Toledo will be Spain. The car will be there in November 2012, and rest of European markets "invasion" is scheduled for early 2013.
