"Calibration" or as it is called "firmware" done if there is a specific bug ECM and or you broke a sledgehammer and you need to put a new one (from the factory they are empty).
I.e. the module ECM is working on a special program for each individual series engines and their specific parameters. Itself when circumstances sometimes crashes the program
ECM-a partial loss of data and. so on, and then the system begins to produce different tricks and sometimes simply the engine did not start.
INCAL this is the complete collection of these programs for all Cummins engines which are filled with Insight. Even when you have experience and some codes on INSIGHT in the ESM can pour another calibration non-native,thereby to increase or decrease engine power and change some of the basic parameters of his work.
I do not recommend to deal with these things without experience and not knowing the intricacies,there is a real chance to upset the operation of the engine, and then generally it will end overhaul.
