The official opening of the concept of the new city car from Opel was held in Frankfurt. Opel formally introduced the concept of a new urban car. The novelty is named RAK e and represents a small electric car, which occupies about 3 meters in length and 119 cm in height, which is designed for the driver and one passenger. The body of the car is executed from the processed polymers and weighs 380 kg-according to the creators, about three times less than the usual car. At the same time, the external machine is distinguished by futuristic forms, and access to the cockpit is made by the special roof-the dome, as well as the seats to be moved and the steering. As Chief Designer Opel Mark Adams said, building this car, the company was based on the already existing projects of electric vehicles, first of all on Ampera. Also, according to Adams, the novelty could be a beautiful first car for new drivers. Some of the functions of the car, such as the opening of the roof of the dome, will be able to be controlled with a teleflight, about the latter. Although the standard Opel RAK is able to accelerate to 100 km/h for 13 s and develop 120 km/h as fast as possible, the company engineers have foreseen a version developing only 45 km/h. However, this level of "maximalka" will allow Europe to legally drive anyone who is already sixteen. The vehicle is powered by an electric motor with a power of 36.5 kWh/45 l. , which can be increased by 14 litres. for a brief time. The maximum engine torque is 58 Nm, and the battery capacity is 5 kWt, which allows the drive to run on one charge up to 100 km. However, in order to make your novelty more attractive, Opel promises to install a solar battery free of charge on the parking garage, thanks to which the cost of overcoming 100 km to Opel RAK e will cost only 1 euro. The prices for novelty, as well as the dates of the serial car's exit, are not yet known. However, they will certainly not make themselves wait, because the interest in the Opel RAK e is really high.
