VW has released more pictures of the refreshed 2012 Tiguan, which is being unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. Apparently the compact SUV is so popular in Germany that the 2011 model has already sold out and dealers are already taking orders for the new model ahead of its launch.

Externally, the new model looks very similar to the current model; although a nose job gives it a familiar family look quite similar to the 2011 Jetta.

In Europe, the Tiguan is available in with a variety of engines and transmissions. In the U. S. though, it is only offered with a 2. 0-liter four-cylinder engine. Lets hope Volkswagen of America chooses to expand the lineup, when it becomes available in the U. S. , with at least a diesel engine option.
